My name is Daan, known online as Downburst Daan. I began storm chasing actively in Europe over 20 years ago before relocating to the United States to pursue the dream of severe weather documentation and storm-chasing operations professionally.

What started as a fascination for lightning storms evolved into hands-on experience forecasting, positioning, and documenting severe storms across the U.S. Plains and Midwest.

Downburst Daan now operates as both a content creator and guided tour provider, offering a realistic look into storm chasing while sharing the experience with others in a responsible and professional manner. 

The mission of Downburst Media is to safely guide clients through the heart of Tornado Alley while educating them on severe weather, offering a highly personal alternative to large group storm-chasing tours.

Storm chasing is treated as a professional field operation—not a guaranteed thrill ride. Decisions are based on real-time data, road networks, storm evolution, and risk management at all times.
